Chev Lumina Euro
| | Model of the car: | Chev Lumina Euro | | | General comments: | After 150000 kms the car needed everything. It gained a hesitation at 60km and after $1000 engine service and $1500 tranny rebuild, it was still there. Computer was even replaced. The car is a fine driver, but veryexpensive to fix. Rear brakes always require the callipers to be replaced and rear struts are expensive too. The heater fan is not putting out enough to clear the windows, so when its cold, the windows always fog up. We bought it used with 100,000 kms (62,500 mi) and now have 220,000km (137500 mi) in 5 years. In those 5 years put in $6800 in repairs. Its a car with impressive power, but I have to sell it because I can't afford the repairs. We are looking at a newer Lumina. I would recommend this car since its very powerful, but I think you should unload it at 150,000 km (93,000 mi) to avoid the repair costs. There is a reason why they stopped making the EURO. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | - Expensive to repair! - Too stiff of a suspension | | | Previous car: | 1990 Chev Pickup, 1988 Baretta (garbage), 1990 Chev Cavalier Z24 |
