4 Dr. 3.4 Euro
| | Model of the car: | 4 Dr. 3.4 Euro | | | General comments: | I got it used in '96, almost got it paid off and will probably sell it ASAP. It worked fine for a couple of years, but has started developing more and more problems, usually with the electrical system. There's probably a short somewhere in the wiring, and I've had it in four times in the past two months trying to get it fixed. Problems have included: --Refuses to start. --Taillights always on. --Engine surged wildly on acceleration, has died while driving. --Overheats (not lack of coolant). --Reluctance to switch gears (2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th), especially when it's cold out. The shop has finished fixing it (they replaced the power coil, they say), but I haven't gotten it yet and am reluctant to drive it. Brakes are okay, but not great and I've replaced them twice in 50,000 miles. I wouldn't recommend this car. It's a pain to get fixed (the battery is mounted under the wiper fluid tank, for crying out loud!) and just isn't worth the effort. Nice try, but no cigar. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Lots of small design quirks (no cupholder, dash ledge overhangs display panel, center taillight blocks out section of rearview mirror), needs a lot of maintenance to keep running properly. | | | Previous car: | None |
