Chevrolet Lumina

 Model of the car:Chevrolet Lumina
General comments:Well, this model is discontinued now and will go under the name of Impala. I've seen the new Impalas and they look UUUUUGGGGGLY! I like the fact I didn't have to take it to the shop for any major repairs- just the door locks. I am 6'1" and I felt clostraphobic driving the car. For the money, I can't complain at all. Better space management is my only area of concern. I got this car that didn't have ABS and it braked fine. I have 85k miles on it after 5 years but don't know whether or not it will break down in the near future. I better knock on wood! I am skeptical about the reliability of american cars, but for an american car, the lumina has been pretty reliable for me. I would not recommend this car used if it has more than 85k miles on it because american cars are not built to last that long like their japanese counterparts.
What things have gone wrong with the car:Waist of space any way you slice it: the hood is too darn long you don't have a good idea of how much distance is between your car and the car in front of you. The diameter of the steering wheel is too wide that it blocks the driver's view of the instrument panel. The dashboard protrudes too much into the driver's face. Suspension gets kinda week on bumpy roads. Front seats don't go back far enough for taller drivers. Buttons for AC and sound system look tacky. Door locks needed to be replaced. Turning radius is less than adequate since it's a long car.
Previous car:None. I'm thinking about an Intrepid though.
