| | Model of the car: | Lumina/LS | | | General comments: | Overall, the car has been very reliable. I haven't had to replace anything in the engine, yet and it's 6 years old, almost 100,000 miles on it.
I will complain about the brakes. I replaced them in Fall 2002 and all they do now is squeal, grind and make this loud humming noise when I am almost at a stop. I replaced the brakes including rotors a 2nd time in Fall 2003, I am having the same problem. It's very frustrating because I don't know if there is something wrong with them or it's just hard brake pads like people tell me.
The steering has always made a creeking noise and steered pretty hard when I'm going slow, like in a parking lot. I see that I just got a recall notice from GM for a recall on a bearing in the steering assembly. Maybe that's why it has made that noise? The dealer never knew what it was, they could never hear it (surprise, surprise).
The cup holders both have broken, the slot that the visor fits into on the driver side fell out. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Brakes |
