Lumina LTZ
| | Model of the car: | Lumina LTZ | | | General comments: | I would recommend the Lumina (except it has been deleted from Chevy's line-up) as long as a buyer gets either the LS or LTZ version. The standard Lumina (had a standard Lumina when the dealer had to replace the steering pump) and I thought the steering was too loose. It didn't have a good feel. But for the price (we got several additional things on the Lumina, driving up our purchase price, the original price was 19,500, less than 20,000), the Lumina is an excellent buy. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Brakes are weak. The front pads have been replaced twice, with one destroyed rotor (passenger side rotor replaced). Just recently replaced the rear pads. Brakes stop the auto without problems and within standard limits, but feel mushy. However, the brakes aren't mushy, just feel that way. Ride could be better on bad road surfaces, but excellent on good road surfaces. | | | Previous car: | Chevrolet Celebrity. The Lumina is much better than the Celebrity in size, style, features, reliability. |
